In 1872 the first bottle of cava in Catalonia was opened, following the champenoise method.\u00a0If you want to know more about the production of wine and cava, and know what the difference between the two products is, don’t miss the tour of some of our wineries and cavas.<\/p>\n

The Pened\u00e9s area is near Barcelona, known worldwide for the richness of its vineyards.\u00a0Its mild climate and the proximity of the sea make the production of grapes of a high quality.\u00a0It is in the Pened\u00e9s where many of the great wineries and cellars such as Codorniu, Freixenet and Torres are . Some others\u00a0 are small and family-run and with a smaller production that make them very interesting.<\/p>\n

This excursion can be done in half a day, visiting a tailored\u00a0 winery or cava. But it can also be combined with the excursion to Montserrat or Sitges and spend the whole day outside the city.<\/p>\n
