Barcelona is a city full of modernist buildings. Modernism was an artistic movement of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries that took place in many parts of Europe. In each country it receives a different name: Art Nouveau, Floreale, Modern art, Liberty, Jugendstil… In Catalonia it is known as Modernism.
Not all Modernism is Gaudí. There are great local architects who worked at the same time and left us true architectural gems in the city.

Some can only be admired from the outside because they are private, but their facades are lined with flowers, mosaics, undulations, wrought iron… Others are open to the public like museums.
