About This Project

Colonia Güell is an old textile industrial colony from the early  XX century founded by Eusebio Güell, patron of Antonio Gaudí. It is located about 20km from the city center. Some modernist architects  worked on the site, such as Gaudí himself, who was commissioned to build the church.

The tour includes a walk through the streets of Colonia to understand how the factory workers who worked for Mr. Güell lived. The Colony had a school, a theater, an athenaeum, a nunnery, and a church. We will visit the interior of the Crypt, a place still open for praying and that was the study that helped Antonio Gaudí to develop the project of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, as he said, it would have been a monumental model of it if it had been completed.

Our tour will end back in Barcelona, but before we will approach the Paseo de Gracia to admire the exterior of Casa Batlló and Casa Milà. If you wish, the tour can be extended and visit any of these houses. Ask us!
